There are a lot of breastaurants out there, but as of this week, only one can legally stake claim to the description.
Doug Guller, the CEO of ATX Brands LLC, a company that owns Bikinis Sports Bar and Grill, announced on Tuesday that he had officially trademarked the term with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. What does that mean? Well, it means that while Hooters and other chains of that ilk may actually be more recognized for their nifty combination of breasts and greasy finger food than some bar and grill chain in Texas, they can no longer describe themselves as breastaurants.
"We're really excited about receiving this federal trademark," Guller said in a statement. "Our team has worked hard over the last seven years to offer a unique experience to our fans. It just further solidifies that Bikinis Sports Bar & Grill is America's ONLY breastaurant."
Obviously this new distinction won’t impact anyone all that much, but it will -- at least for now -- give a little publicity bump to Guller’s establishment.

According to Yahoo! Finance, Inc. Magazine included Bikinis on its 500/5000 lists of America’s fastest growing companies for two consecutive years. The newly-minted breastaurant has also been honored as one of the Austin Business Journal’s Fast 50 for four consecutive years.
