A group of bikers in Albuquerque, New Mexico, came to the rescue of a 5-year-old girl who was beaten up by bullies (video below).

The 5-year-old — who suffers from a mental disability — was walking home from school in June when she was jumped by neighborhood kids and beaten up, KRQE reported.

The Punishers Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club — a group which consists of “current law enforcement, retired law enforcement, firefighters, active EMS personnel, active and retired military, and select few of like-minded individuals," according to its website — heard the girl’s story and decided to step in.

“We rounded up all the bikes and we rode over to the little girl’s house and said hi,” Punishers member Aaron Holmes told KRQE. President Norman Gonzalez said the girl was “wide-eyed” when they arrived at her home.

The group, which dresses in all black and appears intimidating, was formed to help the community. Their tough exterior, Gonzalez said, is just a look.

“We’re all pretty soft-hearted,” he said. “I’m actually a nurse.”

After their meeting with the young girl, Gonzalez said the group formed a bond with her that will be long-lasting.

“We told her that we are always there for her, no matter what,” he said.

“Emotionally, it was a good feeling," he added.
