Rapper Azealia Banks claims that she was assaulted by actor Russell Crowe at a private party.
The alleged incident took place on the evening of Oct. 15 in Crowe’s room at the Beverly Hills hotel, reports the Daily Mail.
Banks, 25, made the accusation on Facebook the following day. Her post said: “To recap my night, I went to a party at Russell Crowe’s suite, at which he called me a n****r, choked me, threw me out and spat at me.” She also alleged: “The men in the room allowed it to happen.”

Contrary versions of the event began surfacing soon after her allegation, however, and she subsequently deleted her Facebook post.
According to a source reported by the Daily Mail, others present at the party said it was Banks, not Crowe, who was the aggressor. They claim Banks threatened to slash Crowe’s throat with a broken wine glass, at which point Crowe threw her out of the apartment.
Crowe had reportedly invited several people to his room to listen to music. One of the guests was Wu Tang Clan member RZA, who brought Banks with him.
TMZ reports that Banks provoked the incident by ridiculing Crowe’s selection of music, and made a reference to the “boring white men” in the room. The celebrity gossip network’s sources said Banks’ behavior was “erratic.”

TMZ sources also corroborate the story about Banks and the wine glass, alleging that Banks said, “You would love it if I broke my glass, stabbed you guys in the throat, and blood would squirt everywhere like some real Tarantino s***.” Witnesses further claim that she used the N-word numerous times and that Crowe reacted only when she reached for a wine glass and threatened to cut him with it.
It was at that point that Crowe physically removed her from his room, they say.
