Austin Cop Says 'You Act Like a Whore, You Get Treated Like One' (Audio)

| by Michael Allen

An Austin, Texas, police officer recently retired after his comments were recorded by a local news reporter.

KUT radio journalist Joy Diaz was at the Austin Police Association (APA) building waiting to conduct an interview with the president of the union when Officer Andrew Pietrowski approached her and started talking about the Ray Rice controversy.

Rice was the NFL football player caught on video earlier this year knocking out his future wife Janay in an Atlantic City hotel elevator.

Officer Pietrowski told Diaz that the video of the assault was blown out of proportion by the media, and then made some bizarre comments (audio below).

"I don't care who you are," said Officer Pietrowski. "You think about the women's movement today, 'Oh, we want to go to combat' and 'We want equal pay, and we want this.' You want to go fight in combat and sit in a foxhole? You go right ahead, but a man can't hit you in public here? Bull----. You act like a whore, you get treated like one."

The audio tape was played for Austin Police Art Acevedo, who responded, "Somebody [who] has that mentality, has no business being a cop."

KXAN reports the APA “highly suggested” that Officer Pietrowski retire after the recording, which took place two months ago, was recently made public.

“What made him go off on that, we'll never know. It is disappointing,” APA President Wayne Vincent told KXAN (video below).
