Armed Robber Shot Multiple Times By Restaurant Employee

| by Kathryn Schroeder

A robbery attempt went very wrong for Calvin Jequan Benson, 22, at Wings on the Run restaurant. Instead of leaving with money in his pocket, he left with multiple gunshot wounds.

Benson entered Wings on the Run in Greenville, S.C. around 10 p.m. on Thursday evening, armed with a gun, and attempted to rob the restaurant, reports WSPA.

Things did not go as planned for Benson.

A store employee pulled a handgun and shot Benson multiple times, reports The Blaze.

Benson fled the scene and sought medical attention at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Spartanburg County deputies called Greenville Investigators to let them know a man had come into the hospital with gunshot wounds. It was then determined by detectives that he was the man who tried to rob Wings on the Run.

Benson was taken into custody at Greenville County Detention Center after receiving medical treatment. He has been charged with attempted armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
