In Abilene, Texas, a puppy named 'Taz' was stabbed 11 times and left in a dumpster to die, but amazingly survived (video below).
Cheryl Ascol told KTXS that she saw her neighbor Larry Dollins trying to murder the 14-week-old puppy and called the police: “I said, ‘Larry, please stop stabbing that dog. I thought the dog was dead because by that time he was just hanging there. The police brought the dog to my porch, asked me for a towel. And I saw the dog wag its tail.”
Dollins confessed to police and was charged with one count of animal cruelty. He faces up to two years in jail if convicted.
Key City Veterinary Clinic Dr. Natalie Matthews, who is helping the dog recover, told the Abilene Reporter News: “She’s such a loving dog. She wags her tail and wants to be loved on. She’s an innocent animal and has a very positive outlook on life despite what she’s been through in the last 24 hours. She’s a really remarkable animal.”
The Abilene Animal Shelter is accepting applications to adopt Taz.
