Two golden retrievers named Baxter and Bailey were tied together with a double leash in front of their Cape Cod, Massachusetts home on September 26th (video below).
However, somehow the dogs managed to get loose and lost for two weeks, reports CBS Boston.
Their owner, Penny Blackwell, told CBS Boston: “I had pretty much given up hope that they were going to come home.”
She placed pictures around her neighborhood and on Facebook. Someone recognized the dogs from Facebook and Blackwell got a text: "My friend sent me a text message that said give me a call I think I have one of your dogs.”

It turned out to be Baxter, but Bailey was not with him.
Blackwell said that she took Baxter back near the area where he’d been found: "Baxter kind of led me off the side through the woods. I had twigs in my eyes and leaves in my hair."
Baxter led Blackwell down a path until they found Bailey with his leash wrapped around some bushes.
Blackwell recalls: "I could hardly get him untied because he was jumping on me and jumping on Baxter because he was so happy to see us.”
The two dogs each lost 8 to 10 pounds, but are in good health.
