Two-Headed Calf Named Annabel Born On Florida Farm (Video)

| by Kathryn Schroeder

A two-headed calf was born on a Glen Saint Mary, Baker County, Florida, farm this past Monday.

Farmer Carolyn Crews has named the “one in 400 million” two-headed calf Annabel.

Annabel has four eyes, two mouths, two noses, two ears and two heads. It is believed that Annabel only sees out of two eyes and has only one brain.

Annabel may be seen in the video below from CNN.

The birth of Annabel was a huge surprise for Crews.

"It was just like a surprise because no one has even seen anything like this around here," Crews told First Coast News.

Crews feeds the two-headed calf four times a day, but does not know if Annabel will survive.

"I don't think it was meant to be for something like this to live," Crews said. "You know, I don't think she's going to make it."

A veterinarian told Crews there is nothing that can be done.

Annabel breathes heavily and her head is too substantial in weight for her body. She cannot walk and, therefore, cannot feed from her mother.

"She might have pneumonia ... I mean there is no telling," Crews said.

Annabel’s future may be uncertain but the Crews family and others in the area will never forget her.

"I never dreamed of such a thing happening," Crews said. "It'll be something that we probably never seen in our lifetime."
