A police dog accidentally fired a gun into a Lawrence, Mass., home while searching for the stolen weapon in a nearby snowbank (video below).

According to My Fox Boston, a police officer heard three gunshots on a residential street at about 2 a.m. on Saturday. He then spotted three males attempting to make a quick getaway.

The driver, Jorge Henriquez, pulled over, Jose Calderon jumped out of the backseat, ran to the opposite side of the road and buried something in the snow. Calderon then got back into the car.

Eventually police caught up with them.

The officers ordered Calderon, Alexander Gonzalez and Henriquez out of the car, and after an inspection of the backseat, they found a bullet casing.

A police dog named 'K-9 Ivan' was called to the scene to find the missing gun. Ivan went over to the snowbank and began to paw at the snow, where he hit the gun trigger with his paw discharging a bullet into a nearby home.

Police officers woke up the residents of the home to make sure no one had been hurt.

Calderon, Gonzalez, and Henriquez were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, receiving a firearm with a defaced serial number and receiving stolen property.
