Daniel Etgen, 54, is still recovering at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, from injuries he suffered when a Pit Bull jumped a neighbor's fence and attacked him while he was mowing a client's lawn on Tuesday.
The Sheriff's office reports that on March 26, Daniel Etgen and Michael York were mowing a client's yard at 310 Sunnyhill Lane in Lakeland, Florida, when the neighbor's Pit Bull jumped over the fence, ran toward Etgen, pulled him off his mower, and severely mauled him.
A 911 call was made by York of Lakeland. Sheriff's deputies report that Etgen, also a Lakeland resident, had suffered multiple injuries to his legs, arms and hands. He was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.
According to the report, the Pit Bull's owner, Billie Parnham, contacted officers and signed the paperwork to surrender the dog. The Pit Bull has been euthanized, the Sheriff's office reported.
The case is under investigation, states Sheriff's spokesman Scott Wilder. It is unknown at this time if charges or citations will be filed.
