A naked man was shot by a homeowner while the intruder was trying to strangle the family’s pet Rottweiler after breaking into a Miami home on January 2, NBCMiami.com reports.
The residents of the home in the Northwest 2nd Avenue area of the city were awakened about 5:00 a.m. by their dogs’ barking. The homeowner grabbed his gun and went to determine the cause of the commotion.
He saw the nude man choking one of his dogs, a Rottweiler, and he rushed to free his pet. That’s when police say the naked man bit the homeowner.
The homeowner told police he feared for his life and his family’s safety and shot the intruder while other family members called 911. The homeowner held the suspect on his property until police arrived.

AN EPIDEMIC OF NUDE INTRUDERS?
On December 2, the Houston Chronicle reports that a Harris County, Texas, woman found a naked man on the porch of her apartment at 11810 Hammond Drive about 10:00 a.m.
The resident, Misty Stanford, said she went to the porch because she heard breaking glass. There she discovered totally nude 24-year-old Andrew Abernathy, who “tried to shake her hand to introduce himself.”
When she told him to get off the porch, "He just mimicked everything I said, like sarcastic, and started playing with himself," she said. "Then he took off inside my house."
Abernathy, a Cypress resident, appeared to be high, Stanford said.
When Harris County Sheriff’s deputies arrived, Abernathy was talking incoherently and refused commands as they tried to handcuff him. According to the Sheriff’s Department spokesperson, a deputy used his TASER and took him into custody with no further resistance.
