Mom Saves 2-Year-Old Daughter From Pit Bull Attack By Biting Dog's Ear Off (Video)

A quick-thinking Texas woman came to the defense of her 2-year-old daughter when a dog started attacking the young girl, and in the end, the mom won.

According to reports, Chelsi Camp was watching her friend’s pit bull, which she says is usually nice, when it randomly attacked 2-year-old Mackenzi.

“The dog came up and he was just curious," said Camp to KHOU. "When he smelled her, that's when you saw it flip because I think he smelled my dog on her."

As soon as the dog began to attack young Mackenzi, Camp flew into action. The mom says she put her fist in the dog’s mouth while simultaneously biting its ear off. She also instructed Mackenzi to turn over onto her stomach so that she didn’t choke on her own blood.

"I only know to fight so how else do you get somebody to stop," Camp explained. "I mean I would do the same thing with a human being."

Camp was able to call 911, and when an officer arrived, the dog was shot. Although it was still alive after being shot, the pit bull was later euthanized.

As for Mackenzi, the road to full recovery will not be easy, but she seems to be doing extremely well so far. Camp says that doctors have instructed her to keep the 2-year-old out of direct sunlight for a year.

"She's a strong little girl and a fighter," said Camp. "She's meant to be here."

Camp has now returned to work and has full use of her arms, although she says the first week of not being able to hold her daughter was difficult.
