Kim Kardashian Out of Sketchers Super Bowl Ad, But What will Activists Think?

| by Denise A Justin

A French Bulldog has been selected to fill Kim Kardashian’s shoes in the 2012 Super Bowl ad.  The canine charmer sports Sketchers’ new high-tech GOrun shoes while racing a pack of Greyhounds, according to Reuters.

This may not go over well with animal activists who have fought for years to end exploitive and cruel Greyhound races.

The company assures us that replacing Kim with a dog has no other implications, "Kim got us more attention than we ever dreamed," Skechers’ Fitness president Leonard Armato told USA Today. "To say that she was 'dropped' or "replaced' is misleading and untrue ... in fact we continue to discuss ways that we may work together in the future."

So how about a follow-up ad with Kim racing the Frenchie?  They could both wear Sketchers that carry the message to keep Greyhounds off the track! .
