On Thursday, she pleaded no contest and the court convicted her of cruel neglect of an animal resulting in its death, according to the Daily Mail.
Grand Island police Sgt. Stan Steele suspects the Florida woman drowned the dog after the airline denied her access due to its young age as well as her being unable to properly contain animal.
She had previously attempted to board a flight on Thursday, Jan. 22 but had been denied due to the fact that she had three puppies with her.
She was able to give two of the puppies to her parents who lived in western Nebraska. However, when she attempted to board a plane with the one puppy the next day, she was again denied.
Anderson was then seen going into the bathroom in the airport terminal and leaving a while after.
Later, someone reported a dead puppy in the toilet.
The Central Nebraska Humane Society took the puppy’s corpse and performed an autopsy.
“The cause of death was determined to be drowning,” said Steele.
