A Florida man who mowed down and killed nine ducklings in May will pay the price.
Jason Scott Falbo II, 24, of Royal Palm Beach pleaded guilty to nine counts of felony cruelty to animals and will serve one year in county jail.
Falbo ran over and killed nine ducklings with a lawn mower in May while working for a landscaping company.
When he was initially arrested, the Inquisitr reported that Falbo had a history of domestic violence investigations. Prior to the duckling incident, he was accused of aggravated child abuse, domestic battery by strangulation, cruelty towards a child, and battery.

He pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic battery toward his then girlfriend at the same time he pleaded guilty to the animal cruelty charges.
For all of his charges, he was only sentenced to three years of probation; one of which will be served at the county jail. He will also owe community service and court fees and will take mental health exams. Falbo will be able to walk the streets in autumn 2016, but will not be allowed to own any animals or contact his ex-girlfriend whom he is guilty of choking.
Many people are concerned that, because his sentence is so light, he will be a threat to society.
Falbo told the judge that won't be the case. He said that he will be returning to school to become an x-ray technician. He also told the judge that he needed a better defense lawyer than the one assigned to him because without a better representative, his chances of becoming a "pillar of the community" would be destroyed.

Falbo's arrest report described the animal cruelty.
"Nine baby ducks lost their lives cruelly and viciously with extreme intent by Jason Falbo," wrote the arresting officer.
“At the far west side of the property, the lawn man turned the mower around and began to head east again. At this point the blades were up on the lawn mower, and the man was not mowing adjacent to the first pass. The lawn man proceeded on a easterly direction and then the man stopped that mower.
“The man then engaged the blades again and began heading in a northeast direction headed for where the mother duck and ducklings had gathered…the lawn man then ran directly over the ducklings and body parts were scattered all over the lawn. Boyd Jentzsch, Larisa Gontchar, and [redacted] all observed the ducklings being chopped into little pieces.
“The lawn man then stopped and backed the lawn mower up and moved forward again killing more ducklings. Larisa Gontchar ran out followed by Boyd Jentzsch of the home yelling for the lawn man to stop. The lawn man then backed up again proceeded forward killing more ducklings and aiming for the mother and two remaining ducklings.”
According to the homeowner, Falbo was smiling while he went to run over the ducklings a second time and a small child was in tears yelling at him to stop.
"He wasn't even cutting grass," said Boyd Jentsch. "He went right toward (the ducklings) and veered to the left."
The case sparked public outrage and a Change.org petition was started to ask for the maximum sentence to be handed to Falbo.
"This is not just about the ducks," said the administrator of a Facebook page called Bronxwatch. "This guy needs to be locked up forever."
