This is an old story, but I just stumbled across it and felt the need to share. It’s that unbelievable.
According to NBC News, 37-year-old Jerry Allen Bradford, of Pensacola, Fla., decided to shoot his seven puppies in their heads because he couldn’t find homes for them. It was noted by ABC News that he did make numerous attempts to find new homes for them, but just couldn't do it.
"He said that he could not give them away. He tried to give them away and he was unsuccessful so that was the alternative he used," Escambia County Sheriff's Office spokesman Sgt. Ted Roy said at the time.
As Bradford prepared to put one of them down, something strange happened.

According to the sheriff’s report: Bradford was holding two puppies in his arms when the dog in his left hand moved over and put its paw on the trigger of his .38 caliber revolver. At that moment, the gun discharged – with a bullet hitting Bradford squarely in the waist.
Bradford was rushed to the hospital and received immediate treatment. The puppies were sent to Escambia County Animal Control and were adopted out.
