Fisherman Catches 'River Monster' In Pennsylvania

| by Amanda Andrade-Rhoades

The flathead catfish isn’t native to the Schuylkill River between Valley Forge and Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, but the invasive fish made for an impressive catch for local resident Ryan Romanski.

While Romanski was fishing late on the night of July 16, he caught a 31-pound flathead catfish, Phoenixville Patch reported.

According to the Facebook page Schuylkill River Flatheads, a group for the local catfishing community, catching fish that large happens regularly. Within the last two weeks, two people reportedly caught fish weighing 30 pounds or more.
