Try And Guess What This Strange Creature Is (Photos)

The remains of a two-headed hairless calf were discovered inside the womb of a dead cow at a slaughterhouse in Brazil.

The bizarre creature was pulled from inside of the dead cow, which was believed to be too old to produce offspring, according to the Mirror. The baby calf had two heads, each with fully formed eyes, ears, nostrils and muzzles. The heads were on separate necks and attached to a single body that included a shared tail.

The stillborn calf was around seven months old and completely hairless.

"We have never seen anything like it in our lives," said a worker at the Obidos, Brazil slaughterhouse, reports the Mirror. "Word about the animal spread rapidly around the town and loads of people came to have a look. It shocked us all at how weird and alien it looked."

The mother cow’s owner, Aluisio Cancio, said the decision was made to kill the cow because she was getting old.

“At this time of year I normally move my cattle to a drier part of the land as the area they graze on gets flooded naturally by the river. To pay for the transportation costs, I decided to sell 20 cows for slaughter. I chose this cow because she was very old,” Aluisio said.

Cancio’s brother was the first person to find the bizarre calf.

"I’ve been working in this business for over 40 years and I have never seen anything happen like this in the town" Aluisio added. "I was surprised and I admit it scared me as well, but I understand that even though it is weird it is a work of nature."

Veterinarian Dr. Simone Vieira Castro said that it’s rare for a cow to have a twin pregnancy.

"In this case, I believe because the animal was old, the embryos failed to divide properly," Castro said. "Instead of the two [fetuses] developing separately they formed as one body with some separate extremities.” One reason for such a deformity, Castro explained, is the repeated use of the same mating bull — which limits genetic variability.

“Because of the degree of mutation this animal would never have survived, even if it had been born alive,” Castro said.

The remains of the calf were reportedly frozen and will be donated to a university for research.

In a similar story, a bizarre alien-like creature was found on the island of Carrioacou, off Grenada, Express reports. The creature appears to be a hybrid, featuring scales like a fish but two feet that look similar to a human's.
