Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania May Ban Dogs

| by Michael Allen

In Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, town officials are considering banning dogs in the financial district as part of a revitalization plan.

Some residents say pet owners sometimes leave larger dogs tied to parking meters, which can scare customers away from businesses.

Not surprisingly, there's also a problem with dog owners not cleaning after their dogs have defecated.

John Kirkland, a councilman in Beaver Falls, told CBS Pittsburgh: “When I walk, I try to walk daily, I tell you I get disgusted because people aren’t cleaning up after their dogs, after animals. They've got to clean up.”

The dog ban proposal is being researched, but the city council won't take any action until later this year.
