An Australian man is speaking out about being mauled by a lion while on a safari adventure in South Africa.
According to reports, Brendan Smith of Perth, Australia, was on the safari when a huge lion jumped through his car window and attacked him.
“No later than 36 hours after touching down in Africa I find myself in hospital after a lion jumped through the car window and decided to go to town on my legs,” Smith reportedly posted on Facebook following the mauling. “Pretty full-on but am alive, with insurance coming to the party and an influx of curious Africans wanting to see 'the lion man.’ Could have and should have been a lot worse but chicks dig scars so I'll be sweet!”
In addition to recalling the events, Smith posted pictures of his injuries for his Facebook friends to see.

“Oh my god! You have survived some pretty crazy travel adventures, but this takes the cake,” one friend commented. “Imagine this story at the pub in 40 years time. Sending you loads of love and well wishes.”
Despite the attack, Smith seems to be doing well.
“A positive about being couch ridden is that I get to put my feet up and watch the Aussies claim [cricket] world cup glory…always a silver lining,” Smith wrote in a recent post on Facebook. “As for me I'm out of hospital feeling good, counting my blessings and now it's the small but satisfying steps of rehab.”
