Ann Romney Says Family Dog "Loved" Being Tied to Car Roof

GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his wife Ann Romney were interviewed in a piece that aired tonight on ABC News with Diane Sawyer.

During the interview, the Romneys answered questions about Seamus Romney, the family dog that Mitt Romney admitted to tying to the roof of the car on family trips while it was sick and experiencing severe diarrhea.

The ill dog was placed into a enclosed kennel on top of the car roof as brown defecation leaked down the car windows.

Ann Romney told Diana Sawyer: "The dog loved it. He would see that crate and, you know, he would, like, go crazy because he was going with us on vacation.  It was to me a kinder thing to bring him along than to leave him in the kennel for two weeks."

When asked if he would transport a dog like that now, Mitt Romney said: "Certainly not with the attention it's received."
