Angelina Jolie: Brad Pitt Is A 'Wonderful' Father

| by Lauren Briggs

After a publicly contentious divorce filing in September 2016, actress Angelina Jolie spoke to the press for the first time about her family and said she still considers ex-husband Brad Pitt to be a "wonderful" father.

"Of course," Jolie told "Good Morning America's" George Stephanopoulos when asked if she still thought Pitt was a "wonderful" father, as she had said years ago in an interview, according to the Daily Mail. "We will always be a family. Always."

Jolie filed for divorce weeks after the pair celebrated their second wedding anniversary, though they had been a couple for 11 years, notes The Huffington Post. Jolie attempted to secure full custody of the children "for the health of the family" after police allegedly investigated Pitt for abuse after Jolie said that he had a physical altercation with her eldest son, 15-year-old Maddox.

"I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids," Pitt said in a statement at the time. "I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."

This young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.

After keeping tight-lipped about the issue for months, Jolie opened up while promoting her new film "First They Killed My Father," which she directed about the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia that killed an estimated 2 million people.

"It was very difficult," Jolie, who is a United Nations refugee agency special envoy, said during an interview with the BBC. "Many people find themselves in this situation. My whole family have all been through a difficult time. My focus is my children, our children ... We are and forever will be a family and so that is how I am coping. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer."

She said that she did not want to comment in detail about it but that she hopes her family will become "stronger" through the divorce.
