Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are divorcing, according to media reports.
Jolie, who began dating Pitt in 2004 after starring together in the film "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," filed for divorce Sept. 19 citing irreconcilable differences. The Academy Award-winning actress reportedly requested physical custody of the couple’s six children and wants Pitt to have only joint legal custody, says Us Weekly. Jolie did not request spousal support.
Sources told TMZ that Jolie wishes to divorce Pitt because she did not like the way he was parenting their children and was “extremely upset with his methods.”
There was no third person involved in what led to the breakup, and Jolie’s decision was based solely on Pitt’s parenting methods.
The couple married in August of 2014, 10 years after they became an item. They were last pictured together having a birthday breakfast with their twins, Knox and Vivienne, in West Hollywood this past July.
