In the suit, Dominique claims she “still suffers and will continue to suffer for some time physical pain and bodily injuries.”

Dominique fell in a downtown crosswalk and says it left her with “internal and external injuries to the whole body, lower and upper limbs, the full extent of which are unknown, permanent pain and mental anguish.”

Dominique made her sprained ankle known in an Instagram post on Oct. 2, 2014. “I sprained my ankle real bad lol,” she wrote.

In the following weeks, Dominique was seen wearing a walking boot but in December, she was able to participate in the National Action Network’s Justice for All March in Washington, DC, and take a trip for New Year’s Eve to Miami Beach, Florida, reports the New York Post.

Dominique’s claims of “permanent physical pain” in December were made at the same time pictures reportedly showed her in high heels and climbing a ladder to trim a Christmas tree.

Dominique works as the membership director for her father's nonprofit, National Action Network, a civil rights organization.

When news of Dominique’s lawsuit made its way to Reddit, users commented that her actions mirror her father's alleged behavior.

“I guess the apple really doesn't fall far from the tree,” one commented.

Others commented it was a way to acquire money for Al to pay the reportedly $4.5 million he owes in unpaid state and federal taxes.

“Gotta, pay that IRS bill somehow,” another commented.

Al claims to not know the status of his daughter’s lawsuit.

“She’s 29 years old,” Al said. “Why would she have to talk to me about that? I just know that she was hurt and that she got a lawyer and she’s a grown woman. [Where] she goes from there, I have no idea.”

Dominique’s lawsuit is seeking damages for “loss of quality of life, future pain and suffering, future medical bills, [and] future diminution of income.”
