76-Year-Old William Faulkner Crashes Through Construction Site to Keep Hair Appointment

76-year-old William Faulkner of Salt Springs, Fla., allegedly crashed his car through a construction site recently in an attempt to keep a haircut appointment.

A worker who attempted to stop Faulkner on his way to Hair Solutions for Ladies and Gents was hit in the knee with by suspect’s 2001 Lincoln. Faulkner was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

A construction barricade was blocking the entrance to Salt Springs Square, but Faulkner drove through it anyway, the Marion County Sheriff's Office said.

When police responded to the scene they found Faulkner inside. “I did it,” he said as they walked into the barbershop.

The man told deputiesm while he had his hair cut, that he didn’t see the barricade. Then, when the construction worker urged him to back up, he said he didn’t want to go through the trouble of finding another entrance because he didn’t want to be late.

He claimed he believed the construction worker, William Crawford, would move out of his way before he struck him with his car.

Crawford, 59, said when he attempted to remove a traffic cone Faulkner ran over with his car, Faulkner accelerated and hit him in the knee. He refused medical attention.
