A Michigan man who killed his first wife 25 years ago has been arrested once again for allegedly shooting his second wife and killing his four children.

In 1991, Gregory Green called Detroit police and confessed to repeatedly stabbing his pregnant wife. When police arrived, his wife was dead and Green was calmly waiting for the officers to arrive.

Green spent 16 years in prison for his crimes after pleading no contest to second-degree murder. His stay behind bars was relatively uneventful, save for one 2002 incident in which he fought another inmate.

"He was denied parole four times for various reasons, but they all centered around the main idea that he had not shown remorse for his crime, had not gained adequate insight, and had a lack of empathy," spokesman for the Michigan Department of Corrections, Chris Gautz, told the Detroit Free Press.

In 2008, Green was deemed ready to re-enter society after completing several rehabilitation programs.

Green began a new life after his release from prison and married a woman named Faith in 2010. The couple had two children together, and Faith had two children of her own from a previous marriage.

All seemed well with the marriage, until Faith filed for divorce in August 2016. On Sept. 21, Green was served with divorce papers. That same night, police received an unsettling call from Green, very similar to his 1991 call. He told officers he killed his entire family.

Green was sitting calmly once again when police arrived at his home. He was prepared to pay for his crimes once again.

The horrific scene was similar to his first murder, but this time, Green had killed his four children -- 5-year-old Koi, 4-year-old Kaleigh, and his step-children Kara, 17, and Chaney, 19. Faith was still alive, but suffering from gunshot wounds and slashes on her throat and face.

Green allegedly placed Koi and Kaleigh in a car and snaked a hose through the window which was attached to the car's exhaust pipe, pumping carbon monoxide directly into the vehicle. He left his two young daughters to die before police say he carried their bodies to their bedrooms and placed them in bed as if they were simply asleep.

His wife had been tied up in the basement. He cut her face and throat before reportedly shooting her in the foot and leaving her to bleed out.

Before shooting Faith, however, Green forced her to watch as he shot Kara and Chaney execution style in front of her.

Faith is in the hospital in fair condition, according to The Star.

Authorities arrested Green without incident and the next day, he was charged with four counts of first-degree murder, one count of torture and one count of unlawful imprisonment. He has also been charged with three felonies, including assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The killer is being held without bond and has yet to enter a plea.

During Green's marriage to Faith, she had filed for divorce three times: in 2013, 2014, and again in 2016.
