A shooting occurred at a Kentucky community college on Tuesday, resulting in the death of two and the injury of one.

According to The Associated Press, the shooting occurred at 5:30 pm at Hazard Community & Technical College in Hazard, Ky.

Little is known about the incidents surrounding the shooting, but the one injured was a teenager.

Two people went to the Kentucky State Police Station to say they were involved in the shooting, according to police spokesman Tony Watts, but Watts did not know if they were alleged perpetrators or witnesses.

After the shooting, the school went into lockdown. Police searched the school's buildings and determined there was no longer a risk.

The college offers associate's degrees in arts and sciences and also gives career-focused training in mining technology and heavy-equipment operation.
