After a fight with her mother, 13-year-old Trinity Bachmann sat in the middle of a road in Apopka, Florida. She was struck and killed by a car.
Trinity was fighting with her mother about who would ride in the front seat on the drive home from the Central Florida Fair, which Trinity attended with the Future Farmers of America program. While Trinity, a student at Apopka Memorial Middle School, sat in the road, her mother tried to get her safely away from traffic. They were both struck by driver Mackenzie Miller, but Trinity didn’t survive.
WESH reported Trinity’s mother survived the accident.
Miller was tested for impairment and the results are pending.
"My sister was my best friend. We talked about boys and make-up. We did our nails," Ana Cruz said.
Cruz described her sister as an animal lover who was, “loving, energetic, full of life. She would do anything to help anyone.”
Trinity planned to enter her pet pig Robin into a competition at the fair.
"We had about 20 rabbits one year, then we went to hogs (and) we all showed hogs," Cruz said.
