One such comment compared the image of the sex toy to a famous photograph of the supposed Loch Ness Monster, according to the Daily Mail.

In the latter picture, taken in 1943 and known as the "Surgeon's Photo," an elongated black shape can be seen protruding from a body of water.

For decades it was cited as evidence of the existence of the Loch Ness Monster, according to The Museum of Hoaxes.

The hoax was revealed in 1994, when Christian Spurling admitted it was a toy submarine with a fake serpent head attached. Two others, including a well-respected British surgeon, were in on the hoax with him.
