On Mar. 21, a Toronto, Canada, woman took to Twitter to explain how she ended up with feces in her handbag after a horrific first date.

Makela, whose Twitter username is @_blotty, wrote that the nightmare began after she went on a date with a man who asked her out in the grocery store. The date was "going well" so she decided to go home with him.

"I am a confident, calm and self-assured woman so I felt comfortable popping in his bathroom," she tweeted. She soon realized that her decision was a "mistake," as her date's toilet — the only toilet in the house — "didn't flush properly."

"So of course like any calm, confident, self-assured woman. I panicked," she wrote. "And flushed it a million times, making everything worse."

She then decided to take drastic measures, removing the single piece of feces from the toilet using toilet paper.

"Once that was done, I realized i didn't have a plan," she continued. "What do I do with it now? I can't f***ing leave it there. By this point I was REALLY freaking out because I'd definitely been in there too long."

The only thing Makela could think to do was wrap the poop in several layers of toilet paper and put it in her purse.

"Alright, so now what?" she wrote. "We are sitting there on his couch and kissing and all I can think of is the piece of poop in my purse."

All the while, her date complimented her, calling her "beautiful."

"The moment you smiled at me, [you] had me," he told her.

Still panicked over the poop in her purse, Makela texted her sister, hoping she would offer a solution to the problem.

"Do something, go outside pretend that you smoke," Tina, her sister, replied.

Makela decided not to go outside and rather wait it out a few hours. Finally, her date went to use the bathroom and she heard him flush.

"I figured he fixed it," she tweeted. "Maybe not, but I have to take the chance. I have to try to flush the poop. So I brought my purse up to the washroom. Unwrapped the poop, prayed to every god I know, put it in and flushed.

"By the grace of God, it worked. The poo was flushed. I was free. I was in the clear. Everything was going to be okay."

With the situation rectified, Makela later offered her Twitter followers some worthwhile advice, "[S]eriously: don't drink coffee before a date, it's better to be sleepy than to have to hide poop in [your] purse."

Her story soon went viral, garnering thousands of retweets. The next day, Makela lamented her newfound fame.

"All of the hard work I put into being a hot girl is tarnished by one teeny tiny poop story," she wrote. "Now I'm just the poop girl."

Daily Mail readers also reacted to the story, with many saying that she should have handled the situation differently.

"So leaving the bathroom and simply explaining to the guy that his toilet was broken was not an option?" one reader commented. "He could have provided a bucket of water to 'flush' it before investigating."
