Woman Notices Graphic Art On Mother's Pillow (Photo)

| by Alex Scarr

A woman noticed a strange pattern on her mother's new decorative pillows and decided it was too amusing not to share.

A Tucson woman wrote a post on Reddit showing the pillows her mother had recently purchased and included a picture for reference, according to the Daily Mail. The following picture has been labeled "Not Safe For Work," or NSFW.

The pillows have a discreet -- but purposeful -- design of male genitalia inside the flower arrangements of the print, which at first glance does not appear to be anything salacious. One Reddit commenter noted that he didn't notice what, exactly, he was looking at, only to discover he had been staring at a male reproductive organ for five minutes.

The pillows were discovered for sale on a website called Look Human, where they are priced at $27.99.

"Looking for a new french toile pattern blanket for your couch?" reads the item's description on the website. "Something that is nice flowery and with mildly offensive genitalia to your mother once she stares at it too long? This subtle floral penis pattern is for you."

Look Human specializes in off-kilter clothing, mugs, decorations, and other accessories. Among their best-sellers are T-shirts with puns about Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and other gifts featuring wordplay.

The website's "trending" listings includes a wide array of items with the eccentric floral design, including a tote bag, a coffee mug, and pillows in several different colors.

"We believe that every printed object can be a mechanism to declare identity and belonging," reads the Look Human "About Us" page. "We work every day to create compelling clothing, accessories, and home decor for trendsetters and pop culture nerds with a bold sense of humor."

"Everyone on the HUMAN team has their own unique voice and personality, but we all share in our mission to enable self-expression through exceptional design."

As for the original Reddit post, it gathered thousands of comments within hours of posting, many of which were questions as to where one could purchase such an item.

One commenter noted they were confused by the design and had instead expected to find imagery inspired by the American artist Georgia O'Keeffe. O'Keeffe is best known for her paintings of oversized flowers, which many thought elicited comparisons to female genitalia.

According to the Daily Mail, the fabric print is the work of artist Coey Kuhn, who created it for others to use in their personal blogs and Twitter profiles.
