Rock Legend Ozzy Osbourne is no stranger to controversy. Tales of his exploits range from the infamous bat-biting incident to drug abuse. In his later years, it seemed that Ozzy mellowed out quite a bit, but he’s recently become embroiled in a new controversy. Reports emerged claiming Ozzy and his long-time wife Sharon Osbourne have finally gone their separate ways.
The Osbourne marriage has often been troubled. During one incident in 1989, police arrested a drunk Ozzy on attempted murder charges after he allegedly tried to strangle Sharon, The Daily Beast reports. The rock star reportedly apologized by shaving his hair and sending it to his wife through the mail.
In 2013, the Osbourne marriage hit enough rough patch thanks to Ozzy’s drug use. The couple, who have been married 33 years now, reconciled in 2014, and Ozzy publicly apologized for his behavior while intoxicated.
"Everybody knows he’s been struggling with this his entire life and I never knew that he was using prescription drugs," Sharon told The Talk at that time, according to The Daily Beast.
"I knew he was drinking occasionally, but I didn’t realize to the extent. ... It’s a disease that not only hurts the person that has the disease, but it hurts the family. It hurts people that love you and we’re dealing with it."
But now it seems Sharon has had enough, as reports indicate Ozzy may have been having an extramarital affair with celebrity hairdresser Michelle Pugh. Sharon allegedly became furious after learning of the affair.
On May 8, a publicist for the Osbournes said Ozzy is currently not at the couple’s $10 million dollar home. He is reportedly staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Sharon allegedly suspected Ozzy, 67, was cheating for a while and confronted him about the alleged relationship with 45-year-old Pugh.
A spokesman for the salon Pugh works at stated that Pugh has taken time off for "a personal emergency," International Business Times reports.
This isn’t the first time Ozzy has been accused of infidelity. In 2013, Sharon said she caught Ozzy in bed twice with nannies she hired to look after the couple's three children Aimee, Jack and Kelly.
"I'm telling you, they were the bane of my existence," Sharon said of the nannies at the time, according to IBT.
