One mom’s Facebook rant went viral after she complained about one parent mocking her son’s heart socks.
“To the mother at nursery picking up your child," Shona Campbell wrote in the March 24 Facebook post. "You may have thought I didn’t hear you but let me assure you I did! When your child pointed out my SON had love hearts on his socks, and mocked them for being GIRLS socks you absolutely tore my faith in this world, because you agreed and laughed along with your child.”
Campbell called on parents to be more open-minded and allow children to pick out their own outfits. Campbell noted that she lets her son wear whatever he wants, even if others will think the clothes are feminine.
“My son is 3 years old, he loves hearts, he loves the color pink, he loves to play with dolls and prams,” Campbell said. “But what he loves more than anything, is having the independence to make his own choices.”

Campbell added that this is the perfect age to allow kids to do what they want. She then asked for readers to share her post to make sure those who are narrow-minded consider other opinions.
