| by Zara Zhi

A picture of a canine in the back of a pickup truck in the middle of a thunderstorm in Indiana has created backlash on Facebook.

Karin Demo posted the photo showing a bulldog in the bed of a pickup truck during a thunderstorm on the Bubs Indiana Bulldogs page March 27, reports WXIN.

Congress just passed a drug testing law that has a lot of people outraged. Do you think this is wrong?

“Lightning and thunder and your poor dog is curled up in the corner of your truck bed while no one is in your passenger seat,” Demo wrote. “Pure torture.”

The truck didn’t have a camper shell.

But the bulldog’s owner, Blake Heidelberger, told WXIN he was out and about when the dog jumped into a pond. He says he put the dog in the bed of his truck for the ride home because it was soaked and dirty.

Heidelberger says that once the rain started, he stopped at an underpass and moved the dog to the cab of the truck. He claims the bulldog wasn’t out in the rain for long.

The bulldog owner says his dogs are “show dogs” and he would never abuse them, according to KVDR.

The post has since been deleted from Facebook.
