Since 2004, Tresa Edmunds has been blogging about “motherhood and other creative endeavors” on her website, Reese Dixon, but her son 8-year-old son Atticus recently stole the spotlight in a viral video (below).

Atticus has cerebral palsy and is confined to a wheelchair, but with the help of his father, he was able to take on the ramps and pipes at a skate park in Sacramento, California, CBS Sacramento reported. The video, which was uploaded to YouTube on Jan. 3, has garnered more than 46,000 views as of Feb. 9.

Tresa said she’s thrilled with the response.

“It’s so exciting for me, because as his mom — his advocate — my goal is to make room in the world for him and to get people to see him as a kid first and the chair second,” she told CBS Sacramento.

Fortunately for Atticus, he’ll be able to get back to the skate park soon — he has since gotten a helmet and skating gear for his next adventure.
