| by Michael Allen

A paddle boarder was almost swallowed by a humpback whale off the coast of Santa Cruz, California in late November (video below).

Eric Garcia filmed the incident and posted it on YouTube on Nov. 24 where he wrote: "After observing the whale surfacing to breathe several times, we decided to head out."

You have to see this to believe it. This dog unlocked his crate and four doors in the middle of the night to escape his veterinarian's office:

"Little did we know that we will see the whale one more time except, this time it came out with its mouth opened and barely missing a paddle boarder who was coming out of the harbor."

The Daily Mail notes that the unidentified paddle boarder escaped the whale a second time when the giant creature raised one of its fins.
