A young Texas girl with special needs got the surprise of a lifetime when her biggest crush asked her to the prom.

In the video (below), Tiffany Gay, a special needs sophomore at Natalia High School in Texas, thinks she is being led outside of her school but instead of a routine fire drill, she finds her crush, junior Luis Velasquez, holding a bunch of flowers.

Gay gets very emotional as her classmates hold signs that read: “Will you go to prom with me?”

Bruno Mars’ “Just The Way You Are” plays in the background of the magical “promposal” (prom proposal).

“He met Tiffany back in the seventh grade,” Velasquez’s mother, Jessica, told ABC News. Since then, Tiffany has had the biggest crush on my son. And since the beginning of this school year, Luis said he’s taking Tiffany to prom.”

She adds that Gay is a wonderful girl and that her son Luis cares about her.

“When you meet her she has that infectious smile and you’re just like, ‘Oh, my God, I want to hug you,’” Jessica said.

Gay suffers from Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS), a rare genetic disorder of the 15th chromosome, scoliosis of the spine and diabetes.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help raise money for Gay’s prom night and more than $7,000 has been accumulated so far.

Footage of the proposal has racked up more than 5 million views since it was first posted on Facebook on April 14.
