Jon Newport dressed as a human taco and hopped on his skateboard to promote Baby’s All Right, a bar in Brooklyn, last Saturday.
Ben Wilkes, an employee of the bar, filmed Newport as he came flying down a bridge and crashed into a car, noted The Gothamist (video below).
Wilkes told AnimalNewYork.com that he thought to himself, “He was a professional skateboarder when he was 16, he knows what he’s doing … it will be okay."
Wilkes added, "But as soon as he passed me I was like, ‘Oh s---!'"
Newport, who was not seriously injured in the accident, believes he was going about 15 miles per hour, but said he "couldn’t see anything."
Newport only suffered a scratch, however, his skateboard was broken.
So, what made him try the stunt besides the money?
"I wouldn’t have put that suit on if I had not been drinking," Newport added. “It worked out great, I can’t wait to do it again. I probably won’t get hit by a car, but I will risk my life.”
Baby’s All Right proudly posted the incident on their Instagram page.
