Singer Kicks Girl In Back, Knocks Her Off Stage (Video)

| by Michael Allen

Parker Cannon, the lead singer for The Story So Far, a punk band, was caught on video (below) drop-kicking a female fan from behind and knocking her off the stage at the Mod Club in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on April 10.

The female fan was taking a selfie on stage when Cannon jumped in the air and hit her from behind with both feet, knocking her face-first into the crowd, who cheered, notes Billboard.

The club's general manager Jorge Dias later issued a statement regarding the incident:

On behalf of the venue we are appalled by the actions of the singer and do not condone these actions by anyone. There was no report of injuries and the venue will not allow the band to play the venue again for their actions. I have never imagined and never seen anything like that at the venue in 14 years in operation. That was a very cowardly act.

Billboard asked for a comment from the band via Facebook, as well as from Good Fight, the band's management company, and Sony Music Canada, the band's distributor, but did not receive any responses.

Cannon reportedly kicked a male fan who got on stage at a bar in Houston in 2015.

The Toronto police are not pursing charges in this case because no one has filed a complaint.

The incident created a backlash against Cannon on Twitter, according to CBC News:

"Stop qualifying it with 'it's annoying when people are on stage.' No. It's just not ok to violently assault people, disproportionately women."

"It's not funny. It's not cool. It's not tough. It is incredibly lame to be an adult who hits teenagers."

"Well it seems Parker Cannon has kicked someone else off stage. That's the story so far, as we have it."

"Well done, Parker Cannon. The money she would have spent buying your merch will now go to her hospital bills."

"I love the story so far but what Parker did was wrong dude."

"Big up to @thestorysofarca's vocalist for drop kicking a fan off the stage. Pleasant way to treat someone who paid to come and see you!"
