Math might not had been everyone's favorite subject in school, but one Youtube video(below) might have you thanking your math teachers.

The video starts off with two friends in a parked car, when one friend asks the other a simple math problem: "If you're traveling at 80 miles per hour, how long will it take to travel 80 miles?"

Her friend sits in the car for two minutes, stumped by the question.

It is an entertaining, but nonetheless frightening, reminder of the education of the next generation of Americans.

According to data from the Pew Research Center, only 29 percent of Americans ranked their country's K-12 education in science, mathematics, engineering and technology as best in the world.

The research center also found 15-year-olds from the United States who took the 2012 Program for International Student Assessment scored an average 481 in Science and Math, putting them far behind Asian countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan who scored upwards of 550.

Additional data found that while U.S students are scoring higher on national math assessments than they did nearly two decades ago, they still rank average with the rest of the international community.
