Singer Robin Thicke has been accused of being a violent father towards his 6-year-old son, new legal documents reveal. The star is in the middle of an acrimonious custody battle with his actress ex-wife Paula Patton.
The papers claim the couple's son, Julian, told his elementary school teachers that his father spanks him and that he also "punches" him, a source familiar with the case reportedly said, TMZ reports.
The same source stated the school informed the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services of the boy's alleged comments on Jan. 3.
As a consequence, Patton started keeping her son away from Thicke with court papers claiming she told him: "Julian is scared of you," the Daily Mail reports.

On Jan. 12, a judge rejected Patton's request to alter the custody agreement between the pair.
Patton responded by filing an emergency order that seeks to have Thicke only visit his son during daytime supervised visits.
The custody arrangement, as it stands, has Thicke seeing his son overnight every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The singer has responded to the allegations, stating he only spanks his son occasionally and that he only does it as part of the disciplinary routine he agreed upon with Patton.

"On a very rare occasion and only as a last resort, I will use light spanking, but it is consistent with the law -- open hand on the butt. This is the type of discipline to which Paula and I agreed during our marriage," he said in legal documents. "I have never exceeded age-appropriate discipline, and thus never been an issue, nor has it been raised by Paula previously."
The music star then went on to claim that Patton is seeking to change the custody arrangement out of bitterness because she was not invited to the funeral of his father, Alan Thicke.
Actor Alan Thicke, 69, died of a heart attack in December 2016.
"Paula did not have a positive relationship with my father and often made negative comments to me about my father. As such, she was not welcome at his funeral," Thicke said in the court documents explaining why Patton wasn't on the funeral's guest list.
Patton had posted a positive tribute to Alan on social media soon after he died.
"I knew Alan since I was 15 years old and he had a tremendous effect on my life. I loved and respected him so much!" read her post on Instagram.
"So many great memories and laughs together. We will miss him so much! His grandson is quite sure he is still here with us in spirit."
