Crowd Screams 'Come Back' As Ex-President Obama Leaves Italian Restaurant (Video)

Despite President Donald Trump's wiretapping accusations, former President Barack Obama is avoiding political drama, continuing to relax since leaving office in late January. Last night, as he left dinner with Michelle and Malia, people screamed, "Come back!"

The former president, his wife Michelle, and daughter Malia were spotted having dinner at an Italian restaurant in New York City on March 9. Their youngest child, Sasha, was back home in Washington, D.C.

Obama was sipping red wine at Carbone, a restaurant he visited previously with both of his daughters while he was in the city for for a fundraiser in July 2015, reports the Daily Mail.

Obama was spotted enjoying a $49 double lamb chop, while Michelle opted for white wine and 18-year-old Malia, who is completing an internship in New York, drank water.

After leaving the restaurant, one man in the cheering crowd outside loudly screamed "Come back!" to the Obamas.

On March 5, the former commander in chief was spotted visiting the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C, where his outfit drew attention.

In contrast to his infamous baggy "Dad jeans," Obama was wearing a pair of fresh, straight-legged jeans.

"Now that he’s retired, he’s looking even sharper," commented fashion writer Cody Jones in the New York Post, also pointing out his relaxed facial expression after a trip to the Caribbean and a February shot of Obama wearing all white.

"In his boldest, post-presidential look to date, Obama was snapped wearing an all-white ensemble, which made him look as if he’d walked straight off a movie set," commented Jones, later pointing out Obama also looked more physically fit.

But while Obama certainly seems to be enjoying life far more now, he's not entirely given up work or political life.

On Feb. 28, Penguin Random House won the right to publish Barack and Michelle Obama's books, paying $60 million to do so.

"We are very much looking forward to working together with President and Mrs. Obama to make each of their books global publishing events of unprecedented scope and significance," Penguin Random House CEO Markus Dohle said. "With their words and their leadership, they changed the world, and every day, with the books we publish at Penguin Random House, we strive to do the same."

Additionally, the former president is working with The Obama Foundation to promote good education, civic responsibility and more, its CEO David Simas explains on Medium.

“I’m asking you to believe," said Obama. "Not in my ability to create change  --  but in yours."
