Prince's Entourage To Face Questions About His Death

Prince’s entourage will reportedly be questioned by police about an alleged painkiller overdose days before his death April 21.

According to sources, 57-year-old Prince took so many Percocet painkillers after performing in Atlanta, Georgia, that he required emergency medical attention, Mirror reports. On April 15, his private plane diverted from its flight plan and made an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois.

Percocet was one of the drugs found in Michael Jackson’s home upon his death.

Prince was taken to a hospital and reportedly given a “save shot” that is normally administered to overdose victims. Doctors told him he would have to be monitored for 24 hours but a private room could not be secured and so he was discharged—three hours after being admitted.

Upon discharge, he was described as “not doing well.”

Police are now reportedly seeking to interview the people who were with Prince on the flight, including his friends, staff, and the flight crew.

They are investigating whether Prince was prescribed too many painkillers.

“We understand Prince suffered chronic pain after developing a hip problem. Naturally he took painkillers to ease his troubles but police are looking into if he was prescribed too many,” a police source said.

“We have seen in the case of Jackson how people can acquire large quantities of drugs when really they should be monitored,” the source added.

The day after his alleged overdose, Prince appeared at a party in Minnesota and assured fans they should “wait a few days” before wasting any prayers.

Three days before his death, Prince was seen riding his bike outside his Paisley Park home in Minnesota, TMZ reported.

His neighbor took photos of him and said he appeared happy and was smiling while he cruised around the neighborhood. She said he was riding his bike for at least an hour and did not show any signs of fatigue.

Prince’s autopsy was completed April 22 and the results are expected within weeks.
