Porn Site Promises To Plow Snow In Boston For Free

| by Michael Allen

The adult website PornHub offered to plow snow in Boston on March 14.

PornHub Vice President Corey Price told Boston Magazine: "The PornHub team understands that by this time of year, most cities have run up their budget in snow removal, and we thought we’d lend a hand in getting our fans plowed."

Price said that more than two dozen trucks, branded with the company logo, would start sweeping parking lots and streets at midnight. However, the porn site was not going to plow driveways.

Other cities may also be blessed by the PornHub-branded trucks.

"Our fans are important to us and we hope to plow any state in need," Price said.

Price asked that people tweet the hashtag #PornhubPlows.

The Boston Globe reported on March 14 that the Boston area was pounded with snow, which brought down trees and knocked out power for more than 54,000 customers.

Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh said that school sessions would be canceled on March 15 because of possible dangers on the roads.

"I’d rather err on the side of caution than put our kids in harm’s way," Walsh said at a press conference in mid-afternoon. At that time, 4.5 inches of snow had dropped on the city.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, there were over 3,600 crews working on state roads; no word on PornHub's efforts.

Republican Governor Charlie Baker of Massachusetts thanked residents for staying off the roads, and added: "Most of all, we hope you can find a way to stay home, everybody continues to use their head."

According to Baker, snow was falling in most areas at 2 to 4 inches per hour.

Baker said the east-facing coastline was being monitored because of high tides and waves being blown by the wind.

Logan International Airport, located in East Boston, canceled flights because of the weather. Travelers are encouraged to check with their airlines before going to the airport.

For this winter, the National Weather Service had Boston at 39.2 inches of snow, but the snow storm on March 14 was expected to push that number to 45.

Boston.com reports that the snow totals in Massachusetts may have actually fallen short of the predictions, but some places near Boston had almost one foot of snow; Central and Western Massachusetts actually had more than a foot.

The National Weather Service warned of possible icy roads in the Boston area on March 15.
