School bullies in Nebraska are suspected of putting a deaf student's hearing aid in the toilet.

School bullies at Burke High School in Omaha took Alex Hernandez's backpack, which included his tablet, school supplies, homework, debit card and cochlear implant, which he uses to help him hear, according to KMTV.

Hernandez didn't know who took his bag. But school officials reviewed surveillance video and found two unidentified male students stole the bag.

“Those students think it's OK to bully a deaf student, but it's not," Hernandez told KMTV. "It's not OK to bully someone who is disabled, deaf or hard of hearing. Or anyone for that matter."

Hernandez said he is sick and tired of the bullying going on at his school.

"This just got out of hand. There's too much bullying, too much drama, too much fighting, it’s just not nice," he said.

And what especially bothered Hernandez was that the bullies ruined his English project.

“I was very upset because I know I work really hard on my project and homework because I just want to make my mom to be happy and know that I did a good job on the homework,” Hernandez said.

Hernandez's mom said she would like to have a few words with the bullies to find out what would compel somebody to steal a deaf kid's backpack and throw the contents in a toilet.

“I just want to talk to them; I don’t want to fight them,” she said. “I want to talk it out. And talk to their parents about them so they can tell them they need to teach them the right thing to do.”

A GoFundMe page was set up for Hernandez to pay for the damaged school supplies. It quickly reached its goal of $800.
