A photo of a former prison inmate praying with the police officer who arrested him eight years ago has gone viral on Facebook.

Kevin Woods captured the moment during a cookout in the Texas city area, Fox 29 reported. He posted the photo on Facebook Saturday and the post has already been shared more than 37,000 times.

Woods wrote:

“I got to watch something so amazing I'm speechless. We are at a cook off and I see Sal Chapa get pulled away. I look over and they are in prayer. Sal arrested this guy about 8 years ago on a gun charge. The young man got a 5 year sentence. While he was in prison he said ‘God if you are real turn my life around.’

"He got out after serving a year and half. Has graduated bible college with perfect attendance and his strong in his church. This man wanted to pray for the officers safety. We should be seeing more of this in America. There shouldn't be race involved and this is living proof that color doesn't matter. This is a prime example. All lives matter ONE NATION UNDER GOD! prayers to your brother and I pray for you. Continue of your path brother thank you for saying a prayer for my brother.”

The photo made its way back to the man who was later identified as Doc Amey. He thanked Woods for capturing the moment and thanked Chapa for helping him turn his life around.

“I never even realized anyone saw me man but that's what it's all about brother all lives matter I know some people may say this is against the G-Code but thank God I don't live by that anymore I live by the GOD-CODE thank you for capturing this moment my brother love you and God bless you,” Amey wrote.
