A pet owner posted a straightforward warning to drivers in the neighborhood after his dog was hit and killed by a car.

A picture of the threatening sign was originally shared on Reddit by Choey33, who explained that it was posted up in his neighborhood. “We buried our dog last week because you won’t slow down,” the sign read. “If you hit 1 of my kids your family may be burying you.”

Redditors were quick to criticize the sign for its message, particularly one important detail.

“Who the hell puts a time reference like "last week" on a sign?” Acquired6thSense commented.

“There's a guy near me who runs out of gas at the same spot every day. Super unlucky,” Rock_Strongo replied.

Other viewers defended the person who posted the sign, saying drivers should be more careful when driving through neighborhoods.

“Dogs get loose and small children run into streets,” Total-Maniac wrote. “All drivers should be aware of their surroundings and drive at a safe speed.”
