A woman in Franklin County, Ohio, is facing a felony charge after she allegedly streamed live video of her 18-month-old baby taped to the wall. The woman has been arrested, and her son is in the care of Children's Services for safety.
"Parents don't need to whoop the kids, all you gotta do is tape them to the wall," Shayla Rudolph, 18, said in her Facebook Live video, posted earlier in January, reports WSYX. The baby is heard crying in the video, to which Rudolph responds, "You have the best mommy in the world."
A viewer of the video contacted the Reynoldsburg Police Department to file a tip.
"On 18 January 2017, the Reynoldsburg Division of Police received a crime tip from WSYX Channel 6 news concerning a live Facebook stream of a mother taping her very young child to the wall, and taping his mouth shut," a press release from the department reads. "Reynoldsburg Detectives received a copy of the stream and initiated an investigation."
