A waitress shared a surprising photo of her two-week paycheck, not including tips, as a way to remind consumers to tip their servers.
"It's payday!!!" Laura Boddy wrote in her Facebook post, which included a photo of a check for $1.70. "Yup, you're seeing that right. This is what a 76 hr paycheck looks like every TWO weeks for a server. Just keep that in mind the next time you decide to not tip your waiter/waitress. Happy Friday!"
Boddy's post went viral and was shared more than 138,000 times.
Popular VideoThis young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.
The post, which was originally shared in 2013, has been circulating online recently in the midst of debates over the country's minimum wage, which some states are beginning to increase to $15 per hour.
Independent Journal Review says they reached out to Laura for an explanation of why her paycheck was so small, but have yet to receive a response.
Whatever the reason, the important lesson from this post is to be kind and tip your servers for their hard work.
