"The case is under investigation, but one of the victims is uncooperative," Detroit police Commander Aric Tosqui said, reports The Detroit News. "There were several videos posted to Facebook. We’ll be working with Facebook to gather all the videos so we can determine exactly what happened, and who was involved."

Authorities asked those with information to contact the Detroit Police 6th Precinct at 313-596-5600.

"We have an issue out here with how to cope with our problems that we have," Tosqui said. "People arguing over a parking spot escalating to violence, it's ridiculous that people act that way."

Tosqui also condemned the cheering crowd filming the fight: "They're not recording to give a video to police, they're recording because they found it to be entertaining ... I understand there are folks that don't want to get involved, but if you don't want to, then you shouldn't be egging people on. It’s unfortunate that we as a society find entertainment in these kind of things."

Many social media users agreed with Tosqui's comments.

"This is ridiculous!" wrote one person on Mad World News' Facebook page. "Is risking someone dying worth something as petty as a parking space. Count to ten, take a deep breath and get over it!!!"

"That entitlement disease is rampant," said a second Facebook user. "How stupid to get like that over a damn parking spot. Do what civilized people do, flip each other off and move on. lol"

Some argued the cheering crowd should also face punishment.

"Need to start holding people that egg others on just as liable as the ones fighting," said one person.

"The people that egged them on should be ashamed of themselves," added another. "They are just as guilty and complicit in the end result!!!"
